Substitutions and Variations

  • Other toppings: My family loves pepperoni pizza bagels but you can get as creative as you want! Italian sausage, black olives, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms or even pineapple and Canadian bacon.
  • Sauce: Use a simple marinara sauce or mix it up with garlic white pizza sauce!
  • Bagels: Plain bagels are my go-to for the pizza ‘crust’ but you could use homemade bagels, mini bagels or gluten-free bagels if needed.
  • Pepperoni: I find that mini pepperoni slices are just the right size for pizza bagels, but regular pepperoni works just as well.
  • Garnish: Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, fresh basil or a dash of oregano add the perfect finish to this recipe for pizza bagel!

How to Make Pizza Bagels

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the bagels then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and your choice of pizza toppings. Place cut side up on baking sheet.

Bake bagel halves for about 10 minutes at 375°F, or until the tops are golden brown and bubbly.

Allow to cool for a couple of minutes, then serve the bagel pizza while warm.

With only a few minutes prep, these pizza bagels are easy to make at home for a quick lunch, dinner or snack. Add your favorite pizza toppings to customize it how you like!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Optional toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, onions, mushrooms

For dipping: extra marinara or ranch

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.

  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bagels. Top with shredded mozzarella and your choice of pizza toppings. Place on baking sheet.

  • Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and bubbly.

  • Allow to cool for a couple of minutes, then serve while warm.

Variations: 
  • Pepperoni: Pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni
  • Veggie: Pizza sauce, mozzarella, chopped veggies of choice
  • BBQ chicken: BBQ sauce, chicken, mozzarella, red onion
  • Pesto: Pesto sauce, mozzarella, chicken, tomatoes
  • Buffalo: Buffalo sauce, mozzarella, chicken, ranch
Storage: Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not reheat in the microwave. Reheat in the oven, air fryer or toaster oven.
